We have a panel that consists of people with and without tattoos.
Since the Catechism does not talk about tattoos, only on bodily mutilation, it’s up to us to decide if we are yea or nay on them. We look into the arguments both for and against. Our bodies are a temple and we are made in the image and likeness of God. It is known the media often pokes fun at Catholicism and portrays it in a negative way, like nuns being mean.
This is true and there are examples of it we discuss. However, in looking at the overall picture, it does not appear to be as bad as you think. Looking at major movies, there actually are a good number of instances where movies match up with Catholic teaching in underlying ways and show characters seeing the Church as an essential and important party. There are also examples in TV and one you may not have thought of Bollywood.

We’ve discussed Theology of the Body from young adults out on their own, but what about from college students?
Their views are often different than older young adults. It turns out these students from Georgia Tech know way more than just engineering. With the rise of streaming services, binge-watching has become part of daily vocabulary.
Typically if you’re watching something for more than an hour that’s not a live sporting event, that would be considered binge-watching. While it is okay to need a break every now and then, it can be too much, too often, leading to dopamine overload. We often see binge-watch not just because we like the content, but because it is a pacifier. If it’s getting in the way of other responsibilities, especially spiritual ones, then it’s a problem. It is robbing us of physical human interaction and getting to truly experience the world due to constant stimulation.
