Fr. John Riccardo, host of Christ is the Answer & ACTS XXIX Exec. Dir., & Mary Guilfoyle, The Rescue Project lead
Fr. John Riccardo and Mary Guilfoyle, Fr. John’s co-host on their newest podcast, You Were Born for This, discuss ACTS XXIX’s new offering, The Rescue Project. The Rescue Project team passionately believes that the most urgent task is the compelling proclamation of the gospel, one that not only shares it in an attractive – and concentrated – way, but that also offers people a way of seeing reality, and of making sense of the world, history, and life that is vastly different from the story our modern culture tells. Until this happens, the Christian faith is often experienced as a mere set of rules and disciplines, and simply going to Church isn’t likely to lead a person to embark on the great adventure that is following Jesus and continuing His mission of the rescuing of this world. The Rescue Project is an experience of the Gospel surrounded by food, conversation, and prayer. It seeks to proclaim the Gospel in a compelling and attractive way over eight weeks in a small group format. This experience is imbued with beauty, authentic humanity, and accompaniment, and it can be offered in any setting, including your home!
Fr. John Riccardo, missionary and ACTS XXIX Executive Director, was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Detroit in 1996. In 2019, after 23 years in parish ministry, he founded ACTS XXIX to proclaim the gospel in an attractive and compelling way and to equip clergy and lay leaders for the age in which God has chosen us to live. Fr. John is a graduate of the University of Michigan, the Gregorian University, and the Pope John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and the Family.
