Christopher West returns to The Family Room to discuss the first book from the Theology of the Body Institute Press, God is Beauty: A Retreat on the Gospel and Art. In 1962, Karol Wojtyla (St. Pope John Paul II) delivered this retreat to a group of artists. It is now available to us for the first time in English. When we open our hearts in faith, we allow God’s beauty to flow through us. The human body is meant to be an instrument of the Divine Beauty. Christopher and our co-hosts ponder how the teachings in this retreat inspire both love of God and the fulfillment of our deepest longings.

Matthew 11:5-6: “…the blind regain their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have the good news proclaimed to them. And blessed is the one who takes no offense at me.”
Mark 7:34, “then he looked up to heaven and groaned, and said to him, ‘Ephphatha!’ (that is, ‘Be opened!’)”
