This hunger for learning exhibited by my children reawakened my own curiosity about what they were learning, especially with regard to nursery rhymes. The origin of one rhyme in particular, the hokey pokey, not only surprised me, but raised questions in my mind about the state of Eucharistic faith and devotion in the Church today.
